Hi, my name is Seitu Hayden. I am a friend of Pedro Bell. He was the artist/illustrator and liner note writer of Funkadelic and George Clinton record albums. He is in poor health now and living on a fixed income. He has told me that his original art for the early Funkadelic albums (on Westbound Records) was not returned to him. I could be wrong, but to the best of my knowledge he never signed a work for hire agreement with the record label. He is trying to establish a fine arts career to support himself and would like to regain possession of his early work to exhibit and sell to collectors. He attempted to use the Lawyers for the Creative Arts here in Chicago to look into this as a pro bono case, but nothing came of that. Does he have any kind of case to get his art back?
